“Anika’s performance inspired me to be in touch with my own emotions and thoughts as a black woman. I am grateful for the honesty, grace, and power in each piece. It truly was a gift to experience.”–Elizabeth L.
Anika has the honor of being a reader in a staged reading of Trey Anthony’s vibrant, funny, poignant play, da Kink in my hair, as part of an all-day Black Queer Diaspora Womyn Festival at the University of MA-Amherst. The play is about the hopes, dreams, and disappointments all connected to a Black woman’s hair. Anika will be reading the part of Novelette, the owner of the beauty salon. Come out and support these sisters of color! (Lunch is provided, and the event is completely FREE.) Seating is limited, so RSVP to reserve your spot now.
